Horseshoes

Like horseshoes, tossed by old men
on a summer's day,
and left on the village green
until their next meeting,

so the snow rings,
abandoned by Wind,
circle the tree trunks
after his wild winter game,
to await his blustery return.

I smile when I read some of your metaphors, Judith. I smile at old men tossing horseshoes on a summer's day . . . and at the parallel you see to a personified Wind . . . etc. and horshoes' comparison with the snow rings.
Your imagination is amazing. But I guess that's what come from having "eyes to see" and a heart to rejoice!

Peter, Your words always give me encouragement to go on writing, to go on using the imagination God gave me when he sent me into the world. We who know you are blessed to receive your generous and thoughtful comments. Thanks!
